NEADA Testifies in Support of Increased Appropriations for LIHEAP,
Weatherization and State Energy Programs

On July 13, 2001, Jo-Ann Choate, Manager of Maine's LIHEAP
program, testified on behalf of NEADA before the Senate Energy
and Natural Resources Committee. The hearing, broadcast live
on CSPAN, allowed Ms. Choate to tell the Committee of NEADA's
support for S. 352, The Energy Emergency Response Act of 2001,
which, among other things, would increase authorizations for:
1) the State Energy Program (SEP) to $75 million; 2) base
LIHEAP to $3.4 billion per year; and 3) the Weatherization
Program to $310 million.
